🌿 Nature

Nature words are the ones a child can check by looking up. Sky, tree, flower, and rock do not need a worksheet first. This page is the English nature list from the games, with a respelling and a sentence short enough to say at the window. Stand together and point before you read. If the sky is grey, start with cloud, not sun. If you can see a tree, use tree. The sentence is the practice. The rest of the list can wait until the next time you look outside.

Sea and see sound the same and mean different things. This list uses sea, the water. Leaf on this page is one leaf. The plural is leaves. Fire is here because it belongs with the outdoor words in the games, so treat it as something you look at with a grown-up, not a toy. Capital letters in the respelling are the strong beat.

Try the game

The flashcards open with English on one side and Spanish on the other, which is the usual pair when you start from the home page.

A verse to read together

Read this aloud if it fits your home. These words are Psalm 19:1 in the King James Version, a public-domain English Bible.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
