🎨 Family & fun
On the site this theme is called Family and fun. It is the people in a home, plus hello, goodbye, a teddy bear, blocks, and a balloon. This page is that English list. Use a photo, not a chart on the wall. Point to one person the child knows and find that line: mother, father, baby, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather, aunt, or uncle. Hello and goodbye are for the door, when someone arrives or leaves. The teddy bear, blocks, and balloon are the play words. Family is here too, and it is also on the Bible list. One photo and two words is a full practice.
Aunt and ant sound the same. Ant the insect is on the animal list. Aunt the person is here. The respelling ANT is the same on purpose. Mother, father, sister, and brother on this list are the everyday English words, not a lesson in older and younger. Teddy bear is two words. Blocks is the plural toy. Balloon is one balloon. The sentence uses red so you can point at a real one if you have it.
The flashcards open with English on one side and Spanish on the other, which is the usual pair when you start from the home page.
A verse to read together
Read this aloud if it fits your home. These words are Psalm 127:3 in the King James Version, a public-domain English Bible.
Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
