☀️ Weather

Weather words are a morning check, not a unit you finish. This page is the English weather list from the games. It mixes things you can see, such as rain, snow, cloud, and rainbow, with describing words such as hot, cold, sunny, and windy. Open the curtain, name what is true today, and find that one line. If it is raining, use rain or rainy and leave snow alone. Say the sentence while you are still looking out. Tomorrow the true word may be different, which is the point. You are not trying to memorize the sky in advance.

Hot and cold here describe the air, so the sentences say it feels hot and it feels cold. Sunny, cloudy, rainy, snowy, and windy describe the day. Rain is the water. Rainy is the kind of day. The list keeps both, and so does this page. Thunder and lightning are separate lines. Rainbow is also on the nature list. The picture is shared. The sentence is the same, because it is the same word.

Try the game

The flashcards open with English on one side and Spanish on the other, which is the usual pair when you start from the home page.

A verse to read together

Read this aloud if it fits your home. These words are Genesis 9:13 in the King James Version, a public-domain English Bible.

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

Genesis 9:13, King James Version
